On the occasion of the 2002 George McNeil retrospective at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, the following essay by Lilian Orlowski was published.

Lilian Orlowsky (1914-2004) was a painter based in New York and Provincetown. She and her late husband William Freed were students of Hans Hofmann from 1937 through the mid 1940s.
